Betty Poore: What's New on the Charleston Coast Blog: Where did it go?

I just can't believe it is mid August and school is about to start. Where the heck did summer go? What a blur.

I found this year that many of my friends, family and clients gave up the traditional vacation for a "staycation". Rentals on the islands were down across the board for two big reasons: Gas and the economy.

Mark and I cancelled our trip to Italy and stayed right here at home. Something to be said for a "homefest" in your own back yard. We had "Italian" night, evening star walks and lots of reading time on the dock. (Not to mention just a little golf)
