Beach Update - City Council Meeting

I attended a City Council Meeting last night, (Nov 13) on the Isle of Palms to learn more about the beach erosion research done by a consulting coastal engineer and beach committe. The engineer, Chris Jones, and a committee made up of island residents, state and local officials met over the past six months to develop a long term beach management plan. After Chris presented the committee's plan and recommendations, the City Council voted unanimously to start the permitting process for an offshore-dredging project that would replenish the disappearing sand.
